The Bristol & Bath Railway Path
The Raleigh Chopper Sprint was introduced late in 1972 at a time when Raleigh could hardly produce enough bikes to meet demand, and what a disaster it was! Very few of these bikes sold in standard form as dealers were forced to change the bars and seat just to sell them through.
At first glance the bike looks very much like a standard MK2 Chopper with racing style bars and a different seat but the bike has a taller frame than the standard bike and then to finish it all Raleigh gave the model a strange thin front wheel and mudguard and replaced the chunky rear tyre with a slick. The Chopper Sprint only lasted through to early 1973 when it made a silent exit from dealers showrooms.
